Reconception of Fier City Center

Project Description
The project consists of arranging the river Gjanica to restore its natural character, providing a conception for the central city square, improvement of the facades of the city and the cinema-theater building.
The project also seeks to facilitate public spaces and provide direct access to the river by reconstructing the arched bridge and the scaled bridge and constructing a new bridge.
Construction of underground parking at Mother Teresa Square, mini-squares and access to the central park, and planting of greenery mainly along the banks of the river and along the roads will bring urban renewal to the city center of Fier and a completely different image along with the opportunity for further economic and cultural development and most importantly a return of this area to better serve the residents of the city.
Intervention and rehabilitation of the Gjanica River are completely unfavorable climatic conditions that have been one of the main challenges during project implementation. Another challenge in this highly complex project is its successful finalization in reduced time frames, intending to complete works by the end of 2019.
