Construction of the main sewer and collector network towards the Treatment Plant, as well as the construction of the wastewater treatment plant envisaged as 1 phase full capacity investment.
The construction of this plant has had a direct impact on the environmental protection of the Korça area.
Some of the main works of the plant consist of excavation volumes over 100,000 m3 as a function of construction of treatment, aeration and sludge collection tubs. Construction of Pumping Stations that make it possible to deliver and handle to the plant all the flows collected through the new sewage network built in these stages.
Completion of road infrastructure, drinking water, anti-fire network, electricity network, drainage of the area where this plant is installed.
The sewerage system has been complex and has involved the construction of a core network up to 1000mm in diameter, including manholes, overburden structures, sewage system, subscriber connections, etc.
Total rehabilitation of road infrastructure, asphalting and natural stone paving of the area.
Challenges of this project:
Organization of works and difficult atmospheric conditions, especially during winter with continental climate with an impact on performance especially in concrete structures, earthworks, etc., by programming and engaging the appropriate machinery and personnel as needed to achieve the objectives.
Intertwining of works with other investments by completing in short time segments followed by other investments in road infrastructure.
Interference with works on intersections with major road axes through drilling without affecting normal vehicle traffic. Works on the sewage system used in old neighborhoods of the city with narrow cobbled streets and the maintenance of the existing arches.
Placing polymer material inspection manholes delivering a cleaner and more insulated network of all elements used for this system.
Works in the treatment plant with high concrete grades and with element of high resistance to sulphate and aggressive waters.
