Construction of Replacement Roads and Bridges – Banja – Section 3A Devolli Hydropower Project

The project consists of the construction of a new road, which starts near Banja Hydropower Plant and ends in Gramsh with a total length of 10 km. The project is funded by the Norwegian company STATKRAFT AS, which has a concession agreement with the Albanian Government for the construction and operation of the Devoll Hydropower Plant.

The works consisted of the construction of a new track with approximately 1,500,000m3 of excavation and 150,000m3 of filling, 32,000m2 of slab protection, approximately 15,000 tons of asphalt.

The construction of eleven bridges with a total length of 1550 metres, with metallic and reinforced concrete structures, can be said to have been a challenge that the Company successfully achieved, among which it is worth mentioning the bridge over the stream of Kacivel classified as the second biggest bridge in Albania.

Another challenge of the company has been the deadline of works which was completed in a record period of 18 months and with zero incidents for which AlbStar was awarded with the prize of “Best of the Year 2017” by STATKRAFT.
